About 95bFM
In 1969, Radio Bosom was born as a student's capping stunt, broadcasting illegally from a boat in the Waitemata Harbour. Over the next few decades the bosom morphed into the mighty 95bFM, the longest-standing independent radio station in New Zealand.
We're passionate about music, just like you. We think that radio is better when it's free from commercial pressures, and that it should be challenging without being inaccessible. This is not top 40 radio.
The DJs
Zac & Ethan wake you for breakfast with shambolic revelry from 6-9am. Morning Glory invigorates your midmorning from 9 to midday. Cutting through the rhetoric on weekdays at midday is The Wire, withindependent news and interviews. Sarin, Gin, Lucy, Richie, and Murray are all about the music during the 1-4 weekday slot. And looking after you on that long drive home are Lia Kent, Bridge, Max, Camilla, and Jack who crank the dial up to 11 from 4-7pm.
Dig a bit deeper and you’ll find a wealth of knowledge on the 95bFM specialist music shows. Amongst many more, there’s ARC Radio, the True School Hip Hop Show, Stinky Grooves with Stinky Jim, Border Radio with Bernie Griffin, the Hard, Fast, & Heavy Show with Dale, and the Rhythm Selection with Dubhead, and more besides. Our DJs broadcast live throughout Auckland and across the globe (via the Interweb) all day and night.
It's your shelter from the shit.
Welcome to the b. Come on in then.
